Electrospraying
Electrospraying is a process for producing micro- or nanoparticles , which we use as coatings or drug encapsulation methods in different administration pathways.
- We start by preparing our liquid solution or suspension, tailored for the content of the particles, and loading it into a syringe with an extremely thin opening.
- When we apply the high voltage, it creates an electric field that that breaks the liquid into fine droplets as it exits the syringe. The droplet size depends on the liquid properties, flow rate, and nozzle diameter.
- The charged droplets are gathered onto a surface, solidified into uniform particles with controlled size and characteristics.
Electrospinning
Electrospinning is a process for creating ultra-thin fibers, which we load with a particular drug serving as carriers or scaffolds in different administration pathways.
- We start by preparing our liquid polymer solution and loading it into a syringe with an extremely thin opening.
- When we apply the high voltage, it creates an electric field that stretches the polymer into a fine jet, thinning and solidifying it as it travels.
- The solidified fibers are gathered onto a surface, forming a continuous web of nanofibers with controlled structure and size.
